SEMI-AUTO TACTICAL RIFLES
- Semi-automatic rifles use either gas, blow-forward, blowback, or recoil energy to eject the spent cartridge that has moved down the barrel, chambering a new cartridge from the magazine, and resetting the action in preparation for the following shot. This enables another round to be fired once the trigger is depressed again.Semi-automatic rifles can be fed by an en-bloc clip, stripper clip, or magazine. This design came after the bolt-action design that required manual cycling of a new round after each shot. Being able to automatically load each round enables the operator to fire many more rounds per minute than the predecessors to semi-auto rifles.
BOLT-ACTION LONG RANGE RIFLES
Bolt-action, long-range rifles are also known as precision rifles. They are the most highly accurate and top-of-the-line rifles on the market. Bolt-action rifles are extremely reliable and durable, which makes them ideal for long-range shooting. The rate of fire of a bolt-action rifle is completely dependent on the person shooting, as they must manually cycle each round that
SPORTING & HUNTING RIFLES
- Sporting rifles are lightweight, smaller profile rifles that can be manually or automatically cycled. The difference being, in a manual, your trigger pull just sends the bullet down the barrel. A semi-auto, however, cycles a new round into the chamber using energy produced from the previous round firing. Found in a range of calibers, sporting rifles need accurate long range knockdown power with a capacity of no less than 5 rounds. Smaller capacity sporting rifles normally have internal magazines, with more rounds you will likely have some kind of detachable external magazine. From the Remington 700 to the Desert Tech MDRX, there are tons of choices for a good sporting rifle. Come on into Dead On Arms and talk with our helpful staff. If we don’t have what you’re looking for in our store, we can order it for you. If it’s just not in your budget right now, we have layaway available so you can lock down the one you want.
